“Kleurrijk vormgegeven prentenboek waarin een wezentje ontdekt wordt, zichzelf ontdekt en een afwisselende reis maakt door de wereld met al zijn kleuren, maar ook door de kleurenrijkdom van het bestaan.
Vlinder Betsy noemt het wezentje Druppy, omdat hij zich bevindt op een plekje vol druppels van ochtenddauw. Aanvankelijk is Druppy oranje en als blijkt dat hij kan vliegen, kan hij op zoek gaan naar iets of iemand om zich mee te vergelijken. Geland in een zonnebloem blijkt Druppy geel; gearriveerd in een groot bos blijkt Druppy groen; drijvend in het water blijkt Druppy blauw.
Onderweg maakt Druppy nieuwe vrienden, maar er dreigt soms ook gevaar. Als hij vogels ontmoet met allerlei kleuren, blijkt Druppy ook meerkleurig – hij lijkt nu op alle vriendjes die hij onderweg heeft ontmoet.

Sprookjesachtige vertelling die door de gefotoshopte collages, waarin veel (exotische) dieren en bloemen voorkomen, tot de verbeelding spreekt. Het teletubbie-achtige fantasiewezentje Druppy heeft een propellor op zijn hoofd en is in alle kleurenfoto’s verwerkt.
De tekst staat in een wat lastig leesbare smalle letter in een doorlopende witte balk onder de illustraties. Vrij drukke vormgeving.

“Colorfully designed picture book in which a creature is discovered, discovers itself, and makes a varied journey through the world with all its colors, but also through the richness of colors of life.
Butterfly Betsy calls the creature Druppy, because he is in a spot full of drops of morning dew. Initially Druppy is orange and when it appears that he can fly, he can look for something or someone to compare himself with. When landed on a sunflower, Druppy turns yellow; arrived in a large forest, Druppy appears green; floating in the water turns Druppy blue.
Druppy makes new friends on the way, but sometimes there is danger. When he meets birds with all kinds of colors, Druppy also appears multicolored – he now looks like all the friends he has met along the way.
Fairytale narrative that appeals to the imagination through photoshopped collages, in which many (exotic) animals and flowers appear. The teletubby-like fantasy creature Druppy has a propeller on his head and is incorporated in all color photos.
The text is in a somewhat difficult to read narrow letter in a continuous white bar under the illustrations. Pretty busy design.
